Schliemann Residency Provence, SRP, was designed to act as a cocoon for creativity amidst nature, tuning into the reciprocity between creative processes and the impact of nature. A place to ignite questions and new ideas, SRP focuses on innovative ways of storytelling and building narratives with the tools of new and immersive media, animation, film, and photography, all of which have a strong presence in the region.

Set in the iconic nature of Provence, SRP is primarily a research and development residency, however an improvised atelier facility can be arranged upon request. The creative practitioner is given the space to reflect, evolve, explore, and experiment with their work and practice.

A small, family run residency, SRP mostly works in PARTNERSHIP with other international arts organisations, always including a local reference. Creatives from all over the world are welcome to apply to the individual residency partnerships shown below.

The Resident stays at an independent studio-house La Chapelle on a private property near Saint Remy de Provence. Located in one of France's most culturally active regions with an incredibly diverse artistic heritage, an abundance of arts institutions, and surrounded by legendary Mediterranean cities, SRP is an ideal place to nurture interdisciplinary dialogue.
